8TH GRADE TECH-ED
Course Description: Students will spend 12 to 15 days studying how to research and develop co2 powered race cars. During that time they will study topics such as measurements (metric), aerodynamics, design, force, drag, resistance, and mass. Students will be required to do thumbnail sketches, rough sketches, and a full size final drawing with dimensions of their design. Students will be evaluated on all work sheets and their final product. At the end of each term if time allows, each student who completes their project will be invited to attend race day. Race day is a chance for students to compete with other students and test their design, and also time for students to discuss why some designs were better then others.
